Hello Central Florida Tri Club Members,
As we navigate through our training cycles, it’s crucial to recognize the significance of recovery in enhancing our performance. With Recovery Week on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to shift our focus towards key components that can amplify our overall athletic abilities.
In this email, we will delve into the essential elements that should take precedence during Recovery Week to ensure we emerge stronger, both physically and mentally, for the challenges ahead. It’s crucial to understand the significance of rest and relaxation, as well as the proper nutrition and hydration necessary for effective recovery.
For instance, dedicating time to quality sleep, incorporating flexibility exercises, and managing stress are paramount in our recovery journey. Picture yourself engaging in a rejuvenating yoga session or taking leisurely walks to aid your body’s healing process—these active recovery techniques play a pivotal role in restoring your energy levels and optimizing performance.
Moreover, mental rejuvenation through mindfulness practices and positive visualization techniques will be a key focus, empowering you to cultivate a resilient mindset. By embracing these holistic approaches, we pave the way for peak performance in our triathlon pursuits, enabling us to not only excel in our athletic endeavors but also sustain long-term well-being.
Let’s embark on this journey together and explore how strategic recovery strategies can elevate our performance to new heights, setting the stage for success in our shared passion for triathlons.
Key Factors – Women Must Lift Weights
Ladies, it’s time to lift those weights and empower your health! 💪✨
Lifting isn’t just about building muscles; it’s a powerhouse for your overall wellness. Here’s why:
- Boost Your Lymphatic System: Strength training helps move lymph fluid throughout your body, aiding in detoxification and keeping your immune system strong.
- Combat Osteoporosis: Weight-bearing exercises strengthen your bones, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and keeping your skeleton sturdy.
- Longevity & Healthy Lifestyle: Regular lifting promotes longevity and enhances your quality of life by keeping you fit, active, and energized.
So ladies, please make time during your training schedule

What’s your go-to pre-race meal that never fails to fuel you up and make you smile?
Chicken and Pasta…. With Alfredo sauce LOL
Tell us about a hilarious race moment that still makes you laugh when you look back on it.
In my first year of Triathlon, I ate at a Chinese Buffet the night before a race. At the time that morning was not funny, but looking back at Pre-race and transition times… it is hilarious now! 😂
If you could create a new triathlon event combining three completely random activities, what would they be and why?
They already have this but I want to try it. Kayak, Gravel bike and trail run. It seems like it we would be a lot of fun…. I just need to buy a gravel bike! 😲 😂 😉
Share a quirky habit or superstition you have before a race.
My anxiety is all about logistics. Once I am at the start line, I know I will finish baring an act of God, so I am calm. But getting to the swim start… That’s another story. I will show up as early as possible to set up and be ready to go… I’m pretty sure if they allowed tents at swim start I would sleep there just to be sure I was ready as early as possible.
Describe your perfect post-race celebration in three words.
Celibrate with Friends!
If you were a superhero with triathlon powers, what would your name be and what abilities would you possess?
Sprocket! Unlimited FTP!
What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen while training for a triathlon?
I only saw the aftermath, but a cyclist hit and went over an overpass embankment at Wilmington 70.3. He was stuck in the mud at the bottom and fire trucks had to come to get him out. When they showed up he said “If you can get me out quick I think I can still finish!” 😂
Invent a new triathlon gadget that would make training or racing more entertaining. What does it do?
Combine Sony and Form Goggles, the Sony Playstation Tri version. Heads up display and your Garmin in the game controller! Download all game content from the cloud!
If you had to compete in a triathlon using only household items as equipment, what three items would you choose and how would you incorporate them into the race?
Knife, Fork and Spoon… I’m thinking a culinary Trifecta! 3 courses all more delicious than the last! Lol
Lastly, share a motivational quote or funny mantra that keeps you going when the going gets tough.
