Whether you’re chasing a new PR or gearing up for your first triathlon, your race begins in the water. How you handle the swim can make or break your performance.

Join us on Friday, August 2nd from 1:00–3:00 PM at the Downtown Orlando YMCA. There will be a FREE Triathlon Swim Clinic hosted by Tri Peak Athlete and CFL Tri Club.

Led by USA Triathlon Level III Coach Hector L Torres, this hands-on clinic is designed to sharpen your technique. It will boost your confidence. It aims to optimize your swim performance ahead of your next race.

Capacity: 30 athletes


✅ 12:45 PM – 1:00 PM: Athlete Check-In & Gear Setup

  • Sign-in and waiver (if needed)
  • Equipment check: fins, snorkel, paddles, pull buoy, etc.
  • Lane assignments and warm-up orientation

🔥 1:00 PM – 1:15 PM: Dryland Activation & Clinic Kickoff

  • Dynamic warm-up for shoulders, hips, and core
  • Overview of clinic objectives: technique, efficiency, and race prep
  • Quick intro to training tools and how they’ll be used

🌊 1:15 PM – 1:30 PM: In-Water Warm-Up

  • 300–400 meters easy swim
  • 4 x 50 technique drills:
    • Fingertip Drag
    • Catch-Up
    • Side-Kick
    • 3-3-3 Drill (3 strokes right/3 left/3 full)

🛠️ 1:30 PM – 2:15 PM: Drill Progression – Maximize Stroke Efficiency

  • Focus: streamline, body position, propulsion, breathing
  • Tools: snorkel, paddles, pull buoy, fins
  • Drill sets:
    • 4 x 50 Side Kick + Rotation
    • 4 x 50 Catch & Pull with paddles
    • 4 x 50 Sculling drills
    • 4 x 50 Swim with snorkel and fins
  • In-water feedback from Coach Hector

🚀 2:15 PM – 2:35 PM: Stroke Integration & Main Set

  • Apply learned techniques in a structured main set
  • 3 x 200 moderate pace with form focus
  • 4 x 50 with sighting & breathing control
  • Emphasis on rhythm, timing, and fluidity

💡 2:35 PM – 2:50 PM: Open Water Tactics & Race Prep

  • Sighting mechanics
  • Drafting techniques
  • Tips for mass starts and pool-to-open water transitions
  • Swim exit and T1 preparation

🧘 2:50 PM – 3:00 PM: Cool Down + Q&A

  • 200 easy swim
  • Stretching on deck
  • Coach-led Q&A: gear, technique, race-day tips
