This week looks a little different.

I’ll be out of town, but the team continues to move forward—that’s what strong systems and culture do.

Key Session This Week

  • Friday | 5:30 AM
    • Swim Session
    • 📍 LA Fitness – East Colonial
    • Led by Coach Torres

Everything else—stay disciplined, stay accountable, and execute your individual plan.

🏁 Race Focus: St. Anthony’s Triathlon

This weekend, we have athletes lining up at St. Anthony’s Triathlon.

This is where the work gets tested.

Execute your race plan:

  • Control the swim effort
  • Stay patient on the bike
  • Compete on the run

⚠️ Coaching Insight: Key Running Injuries (And How to Avoid Them)

Image

As we increase run volume heading into race season, this is where most athletes break down—not because of fitness, but because of poor management.

Most Common Injuries I See:

1. Runner’s Knee (Patellofemoral Pain)

  • Cause: Weak hips, poor tracking, overuse
  • Fix: Strength + proper load progression
Image

2. IT Band Syndrome

  • Cause: Poor mechanics + sudden volume spikes
  • Fix: Glute activation + controlled mileage

3. Shin Splints

  • Cause: Impact overload + poor recovery
  • Fix: Surface management + calf strength

4. Achilles Tendinitis

  • Cause: Aggressive run progression + tight posterior chain
  • Fix: Eccentric loading + mobility

5. Plantar Fasciitis

  • Cause: Foot stability issues + fatigue
  • Fix: Foot strength + load management

Bottom Line

Most injuries are not bad luck.
They are load management errors.
